The culinary arts and fine cuisine have become a hallmark of the Grand Traverse area. Lively farmers markets and friendly roadside stands offer up the rich bounty of the local farmers for residents, restaurants and visitors. Restaurants offer Top chefs the likes of Mario Batali have been drawn here to cook, work and live. Traverse City is the home of the Great Lakes Culinary Institute.
