Long Lake is located in Grand Traverse County just a few miles south of Traverse City. It has a service area of 4.5 square miles and 88,272 feet of shoreline. It’s average depth is 26 feet. Among the Lake’s unique aspects are its islands. South Island is a natural preserve open to the public and four other islands are dedicated to public use as parks. Two smaller lakes, Mickey Lake and Ruth Lake adjoin Long Lake as part of its system.
